A Funny Thing Happened To Me When I Looked Inward…
I found darkness.
I closed my eyes, and that’s all I would see.
I guess that’s why I ran for so long…
But that darkness, it follows us wherever we go.
Sometimes we need to run though, because eventually we get tired… Exhausted even…
And when that exhaustion sets in, we have no choice.
We must close our eyes…
And go inward.
I found a funny truth then.
I was so tired… But the Spirit wouldn’t let me sleep…
No, they wanted me wide awake.
And so they showed me all sorts of Truths about my life.
I realized I had been living my life backwards…
I really thought People, Places and Things were the purpose of my life.
How wrong I was…
I had been trying so hard to live from the Outside In…
But The Creator placed us here to live from the Inside Out.
And thank God for that… Because our inner world is a temple.
It can become the most sacred of places…
Even when the world around us is full of horrors and sickness…
We can close our eyes, and descend into the halls of Truth.
There we will find the Divine in all its shapes and forms…
And then we become that.
