The last year has been a deep journey of transformation — I feel as if I have been walking through the fire.

It has been a process of unraveling — And the process is scary.

It is hard. It is challenging… And It is empowering.

At times, I have felt like a nut being cracked open

For the last year I have been in a deep transformation — There have been moments where I wondered if I had done something wrong.

You know those moments, when life seems to crumble and the fear of God arises?

Those images of an old man in the clouds with a lightening bolt striking you down, for your “sins”…

I admit … Sometimes my imagination gets the better of me, and superstition creeps in.

That’s not really the way I relate to the Creator…

But I know God wields his lightening bolt – not of wrath, but of enlightenment.

And to the parts of us living in darkness, it can feel like punishment. It can feel like wrath.

But it’s an awakening.

It is ruthless compassion — Saying:

“no more. It’s time to transform. It’s time for the old to die, and the new to be reborn. It’s time for you to be a man of greater love, service and substance.”

Not because we have done anything wrong, but because the Creator loves us enough to raise us to a higher level. To receive this blessing, we must give…

We must give up our old identities, patterns and habits for the new ones.

Pretty good deal… Trading our shit for gold.

Through the fire and the storms of transformation, I learned a sacred teaching:

Equanimity.

This is about holding a grounded presence… It arises naturally, when we live in Truth, integrity, love and authenticity.

It is an essential quality for men — It is an access point to the divine masculine presence.

It isn’t about being numb, shut down or detached.

it is about being in the fullness of the human experience — Not just the love, light and wisdom of the Soul, but also walking through the fires of shame, fear, anger, and despair — With grace and surrender.

Equanimity is a state of presence — It is loving awareness.

It is being in the world but not of it.

A man who holds equanimity can’t be swayed easily — For he has found his safety and security through the presence of God.
