The Blood Bath

I bolted up in bed. A high pitched scream filled the house.

I heard loud thumps coming from the bathroom.

My heart pounding, mind racing… Tension filled my body.

Then I came to my senses.

Rumi got another kill… I rolled over and went back to sleep. I would deal with it in the morning.

Sure enough, the bath tub was covered in blood and guts. All that remained of the little rabbit was his fluffy tail and a few teeth.

For the rabbit, that was the worst day of its life. For Rumi, it was one of his best.

Was it a moment of great sorrow, or great joy…? Depends who you ask.

That’s the same in life.

Sometimes great sorrow will arise… Death, sickness, or hardship will find you.

But the darkness is where you will find the light.

As your heart is carved out in the depths of your grief, you will create a space for greater love, joy and compassion.

When I have faced death, disease and loss with a willingness to learn, grow and grieve, my life always improves.

Not right away, but with time.

If you’re going through a challenging time, know that life will get better. An ending is always followed by a new beginning.

I’m creating some new offerings – 1:1 and group – To help others, especially men, in sacred transitions.

Much love!
